Oil and Filters: The Oil is what makes everything work smoothly together in your new Mid Rivers Ram 1500.
Regardless of what you are packing under the hood, motor oil is the one
place where scrimping just doesn't pay off. By choosing a
high-performance grade Mopar-approved Conventional or Synthetic Motor Oil,
you will be helping your Ram 1500 to deliver optimal performance
regardless of what stands in its way. As described in your Ram 1500
Owner's Manual, this Ram 1500 is equipped with an Oil Change Indicator System
to tell you when it's time to change the oil and filter. And it's a
smart system, too! Sensors monitor your Ram's workload, and adjust when
it's time to change. It may be in as few as 3,500- or as many as 7,500 miles. We recommend changing it more frequently if you do a lot of towing or subject it to extreme duty. At the outside, your owner's manual and your Dodge Service Advisor both recommend intervals not to exceed 10,000 miles or 12 months. In other words, change it once a year at worst.
Filtration:
Your Mid Rivers Ram 1500 is subjected to many differing
degrees of work load, from highway driving to construction sites to stop
and go traffic in the city. Each has its own degree of debris and dirt
which is why your Ram 1500 uses Mopar-approved air filters to keep running mile-after-mile. Like an old scrub brush, air filters do eventually wear out, losing their effectiveness at approximately 30,000 miles
or so. At this point, it should be replaced to avoid any loss of
efficiency. Consider changing it sooner if your Ram truck spends any
time in dry, arid, dusty regions. Your Mid Rivers Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram Service Department will stock the correct filter for all Rams.
